The Nun Run

We got up early Sunday morning to take the bus down to Monument to meet Dara for the "Nun Run". It is an event where people dress up as nuns and run through the streets of London.

The location for the start of the race were the city civil courthouses. They are beautiful buildings with these marvelous horse statues out front. They have a covered atrium that must come in handy with the common rain in London.

Today however looked to be a beautiful day, and looked to be warm and amazing. The official sponsor of the Nun Run is the West End show Sister Act.

The run is a charity fundraiser for Round Table Children's Wish , a charity much like the "Make a Wish" Foundation in the US.

There were people in all manner of dress assembled for the run.

Some were quite funny.

The course took Tony and Dara down along the southbank of the Thames and back again to the courthouse.

It was quite entertaining to watch all the nuns come running out of the starting gate on their 4 mile run.

They arrived back at the start about an hour later, and they both looked winded, but in fine spirits.
